HORN SILVER I

Silver chloride, occurs naturally as chlorargyrite or "horn silver". It was found in great quantities in Nevada in the 1860s and the famous Nevada Silver Rush picked the ground clean of silver in a few decades, and left a trail of tragic ghost-towns in its wake. Its designation as "horn silver" is derived from its appearance when weathered in desert areas, or when fused and cast.
