A GLASSLATHE: A SEMI-AUTOMATIC GLASS WORKING MACHINE FOR SCIENTIFIC GLASSBLOWING VIII

Electronics: Headstock/Tailstock Interface Unit

For convenience of use, a series of switches and lamps (LEDs) were mounted on the headstock, tailstock and saddle. An interface board was provided to relate these to the logic-in and logic-out latches on the main stepper motor control boards. They provided run stop for the head and tailstock chuck motors, speed adjustment and synchronisation between headstock & tailstock. Left and right movement control and a series of special functions which could be programmed for special purposes.
